Tomato chutney

This chutney goes well with rava dosa, pesarattu and also idly.
It has tangy and spicy taste.Everyone at home like it a lot :)



Ingredients
  • Tomatoes - 4 medium sized ( ripe tomatoes, they should not be sour)
  • Onion - 1 medium sized
  • jeera - 1/2tsp
  • Red chillies - 4
  • Curry leaves - 1/2 cup
  • corainder leaves - 1/2 cup cut
  • dhaniya powder - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - as per taste
  • oil - 2tsp
To temper
  • Oil - 1tsp
  • mustard - little
  • Bengal gram - 1/2 tsp
  • Urad shal - 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves
Method
  • Heat a kadai with oil, add sliced onions , jeera and red chillies and fry for 2 mins.
  • Add curry leaves, tomatoes and salt and fry till tomato becomes almost soft.Remove from flame.
  • Add coriander leaves , dhaniya powder and grind .
  • Heat oil in a kadai, add the items under "to temper" and then add the grinded chutney and fry ton medium flame for 5 mins .
  • This chutney goes well with rava dosa, pesarattu and also idly
