A vegetarian rice recipe which I have learnt from my mom
Ingredients:

Jeera sambar rice /normal rice

(You can also use normal rice along with jeera rice in the 1:1 ratio)

Mint leaves / methi leaves

tomato (1 big)

As required, cut into medium sized pieces

½ inch piece (cut and crushed)

Garlic

8 cloves (crushed)

Turmeric powder

A pinch

Oil

4 tbsp

Cinnamaon and clove powder

1 pinch

- Heat oil in a thick bottomed vessel
- Add bay leaf /marathi moggu / elaichi/ cinnamon/ clove and onion and fry.
- Add the turmeric powder
- Then add the vegetables,slit green chillies ginger , garlic and fry for 6-7 min.Add the green leaves,(methi, pudina, coriander leaves) and fry.
- Wash the raw rice with water and add to the above mix and fry for few minutes and add water..Add salt as per taste .
- Once the water starts boiling close the vessel with a lid and reduce the flame.Keep mixing the rice in between.once the rice is cooked serve it hot
