chettinad chicken gravy


Grinded paste 1:
  • Coconut grated - 2 tbsp
  • red chillies - 2
  • cinnamon - small piece
  • clove - 2
  • cardamom -1
  •  garlic - 5 cloves
  • coriander seeds - 1/2tbsp
  • jeera - 1/2 tbsp
Roast all the above and grind to a paste .

Grinded paste 2:
  • onion - 1 small one sliced
  • tomato - 1/2 tomato sliced
  • ginger - little
  • coriander leaves - little
  • mint leaves - little
 grind all the above to a paste .

other ingredients
 oil - 4tbsp
chicken - 250 gm
haldi powder
chilli powder - as per taste
salt - as per taste

Procedure

  • Heat oil in a kadai/ thick bottomed vessel.
  • Add grinded paste 2 and fry for some time.
  • Add haldi powder and chilli powder.
  • Add grinded paste 1 and fry for some time.
  • Then add salt.
  • Add chicken and fry for 2 min and add water, close the lid,Cook till chicken is cooked.
  • Based on the consistency required you can add water.
