MoongDhal Payasam

It is traditional sweet made @ home.It can be prepared very easily.

Ingredients
Serves 4 adults
Measurement 3/4 cup = 125gm

Moong Dhal – ¾ cup
Jaggery powdered -  ½ cup
Ghee – 3 tbsp
Cashew nuts and dry grapes - few
To grind to a paste
Grated coconut – ¾ cup
Khus khus – 2 tbsp
Elaichi powder – 1 pinch

Procedure 


  • Fry moongdhal for 5 miutes without any oil or ghee.
  • Pressure cook the dhal along with water.
  • Add the jaggery to 1 cup water and cook till the jaggery dissolves.Filter the jaggery  water and remove the dirt.
  • Then add the grinded paste to the jaggery water and till the mixture boils and then add the cooked dhal.
  • Fry the cashews and grapes in ghee and add the ghee and dry fruits to the boiled mixture and serve it hot.
