Balekayi bajji

The bajjis make very good snack on a rainy day evening.

Ingredients 
  • Balekayi ( raw big banana) - 1/2 (peeled)
  • oil to deep fry bajjis


For bajji dough
  • Besan flour - 4tbsp
  • rice flour - 1tbsp
  • chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • salt - as per taste
  • cooking soda - 1 pinch
  • water - as required
For topping
  • onion - 2tbsp cut into small pieces
  • carrot - 2 tbsp grated 
  • coriander leaves - little cut
  • salt - as per taste
  • lemon juice - 1/2 tsp
Method
  • Cut the raw banana into thin round slices / thin long slices  and put it in salt water.
  • Mix bajji dough using all the ingredients mentioned under "For bajji dough".The dough consistency should be like idly dough (neither watery nor very thick).
  • Heat oil in a thick kadai.
  • One the oil is hot enough to prepare bajjis, dip the banana slices in the dough and deep fry in oil.
  • Mix all the ingredients mentioned under "For topping " in a bowl.
  • put the topping on the bajjis and serve.
